Evaluation Services

DBQ Evaluation + IMO $5,000

Dr. Sweeton conducts the following DBQ evaluations: Review PTSD, Review TBI, and Mental Disorders. Initial PTSD DBQs are also offered, but Veterans are encouraged to seek legal counsel if they wish to complete an Initial PTSD evaluation with Dr. Sweeton, to facilitate the process with the VBA. All DBQ evaluations include an Independent Medical Opinion (IMO), in addition to a formal recommendation regarding the Veteran’s service connection rating.

Nexus Letter (as a DBQ add-on) $200

Dr. Sweeton can include a nexus letter in addition to your DBQ/IMO report. A nexus letter can be a crucial document in a Veteran's disability claim with the VA. It serves to establish a medical connection, or "nexus," between the Veteran's current medical condition and their military service. This letter is often pivotal in showing that a Veteran’s disability is service-connected, especially when the relationship between the condition and service is not straightforward or has been denied previously..

Other Claims/Evaluations $200-$3,000

Other claims may include Total Disability Individual Unemployability (TDIU), aid and attendance, secondary conditions, and others. TDIU is a benefit provided by the VA that allows Veterans who cannot maintain substantially gainful employment due to service-connected disabilities to be compensated at the 100% disability rate, even if their service-connected disability rating is less than 100%.

Aid and Attendance is a VA benefit that provides vital financial support to Veterans and their surviving spouses who need assistance with daily activities due to disabilities or age-related conditions. This benefit helps cover the costs of personal care, whether at home, in assisted living, or in nursing facilities, ensuring that veterans receive the support they need to maintain their quality of life.

Mental health secondary conditions are mental health issues that arise as a consequence of a service-connected disability. For Veterans seeking service connection for disabilities, secondary conditions can play a crucial role in securing additional benefits. These conditions are not directly caused by military service but are linked to an already recognized service-connected condition (such as hearing loss). Understanding and documenting these conditions can significantly impact a Veteran's disability compensation and overall health management. These are just a few examples of other evaluations Veterans may seek.
